Calls for a public inquiry into the Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Trust.
Christie Harnett, 17, Nadia Sharif, 17, and Emily Moore, 18, were all able to harm themselves before taking their own lives while under the care the care of the Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Trust in County Durham.
A review published on November 2, found all three girls were able to self harm and attempt suicide due to a catalogue of failings, including understaffed wards and inadequate assessment of risks.
In light of the report, I joined the families in calling on the Health Minister, Maria Caulfield MP, to launch a public inquiry into the Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Trust.
The families must secure justice following these appalling atrocities, and serious lessons must be learned to ensure that these tragedies do not happen again.
