DURHAM UNIVERSITY VISIT
Last week I had a fantastic time touring the Durham University campus with Rachel and Claire. The visit gave me the chance to see how the university is recovering from the pandemic and learn more about its quest to boost its international reputation in a bid to attract more overseas students.
Durham Business School is a great example of the benefits of international cooperation with partner institutions such as that with Dartmouth College in the USA.
It was also reassuring to hear about a number of great community engagement projects taking place at the university; more and more students are willing to engage with the local community through volunteering schemes across the county.
Not only does the university enrich the local community, there are a number of innovation and business clusters throughout the North East which ensures that innovation within the educational space are felt throughout the wider local economy.
Special thanks to Dr Craig Barclay for a tour of the Oriental Museum.
