RECENTLY ANNOUNCED
I’m very honoured to be appointed as a Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Treasury and I’m excited to start my new role in assisting its ministers with all their financial and fiscal responsibilities.
The Treasury is at the heart of government decision-making and I am sure that the PPS job will be an extremely interesting one.
I thoroughly enjoyed my brief time as PPS for DEFRA where I helped its ministers deliver policies and projects, and I will continue to campaign hard on rural, farming, and environmental issues that are important to the people of the Sedgefield constituency.
Although this role, which is unpaid, is to the whole department which is headed by Chancellor of the Exchequer, this role will mainly involve me assisting the ministerial team who cover various portfolios under the Chancellor.
Each minister is responsible for different policy areas which cover the various financial aspects of government, and this can often see them taking part in debates in Parliament and answering questions from backbench MPs.
