After careful consideration, I decided that, out of a field with some very strong candidates, I am supporting Rishi Sunak to be our next Prime Minister.
Having worked with Rishi, I have seen first-hand, all that he has done for Sedgefield, Darlington, and the North East more broadly. I am convinced that he is the right candidate to continue the task of levelling up our great country.
Fundamentally I believe that Rishi has got what it takes to provide the leadership we need, and to steer the country through tough times. He is the best placed to attack inflation and get our economy going post pandemic.
I know that as Prime Minister, he would meet whatever lies ahead with calmness, intelligence and empathy and continue to apply creativity and innovation.
