Investing in our transport networks is the number one priority for levelling up our great country. 
The disparity between transport investment in the north compared to the south must be confronted if we are to truly equalise opportunities for everyone in the UK. 
Investing in the NE’s transport infrastructure has been something I’ve championed since becoming the MP for the Sedgefield constituency. 
I will continue to use my position to promote the cause, which is also why I used my platform at today’s NRG conference alongside the former Transport Secretary, The Rt Hon Sir Patrick McLoughlin, to talk about levelling up and transport links in particular.
