DEPARTMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL TRADE: EXPORT SHOWCASE π
It was a pleasure to attend the DITβs export showcase alongside the Parliamentary Under-Secretary, Mike Freer MP.
Exports are a critical part of our economyβ exports support millions of jobs in the UK and there are important links between trade and productivity. π·ββοΈπ©βπΌ
The Department for International Trade aims to reach Β£1 Trillion in exports annuallyβ current projections estimate this target will be reached by the mid-2030βs. Nevertheless, by working with Great British businesses in the North East across the UK, we can get there faster. π°
Exporting businesses are more competitive, pay higher wages and are more profitable. π
The UK is ready to trade with our closest trading partners, emerging economies and developing markets. Our future prosperity depends, in part, on accelerating our exports. Global sales support local jobs and international revenues boost the UKβs finances so that we can reinvest in public services. π¬π§
Together, we can level up our country by sparking an exporting revolution that will ensure we build back better and stronger than ever. π
