Today during PMQs, I had the opportunity to address the Prime Minister directly about the future of the Hitachi site in Newton Aycliffe.
This site is a cornerstone of our local economy, and its future is of utmost importance to our community. I urged the government to prioritise support and investment to secure a sustainable future for the site and its workforce.
I’m pleased the PM emphasised the need for collaborative efforts between government, industry, and unions to ensure a positive outcome for all stakeholders. I will continue to advocate fiercely for the interests of Newton Aycliffe and push for the necessary actions to safeguard our community's prosperity
