t was a pleasure to meet with representatives from the National Farmers Union today to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing our local farming community. 
Our farmers are the backbone of our rural economy, and it is essential that we support them as they face the challenges of climate change, rising costs, and market volatility. 
I was particularly interested in hearing about the NFU's work on developing new and innovative farming practices that will help to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and pesticides. 
I am committed to working with the NFU to ensure that our local farmers have the support they need to thrive.
