On International Men's Day, I joined with millions around the globe in celebrating the positive contributions of men and boys to our communities, families, and society as a whole.
Men play a vital role in shaping our world, from nurturing and supporting families to leading businesses and driving innovation. They are our protectors, our teachers, our mentors, and our friends. And they are also the backbone of our communities, volunteering their time and talents to make a difference in the lives of others.
Yet, despite their immense contributions, men often face unique challenges, including higher rates of suicide and mental health issues. They are also disproportionately affected by homelessness and addiction.
On this International Men's Day, let us pledge to break down the stereotypes that surround men and boys and to create a world where they feel valued, respected, and supported. Let us work together to build a society where men can thrive and reach their full potential.
As the MP for Sedgefield, I am committed to supporting policies that promote the well-being of men and boys. I believe that we must address the root causes of male disadvantage, such as mental health issues and lack of access to education and employment opportunities. I also believe that we must promote positive role models for men and boys, showcasing the many ways in which they can make a positive impact on the world.
Together, we can create a world where all men and boys have the opportunity to succeed.
