“WELCOME TO WESTMINSTER, CLLRS”👋 It was an honour to welcome our hardworking local councillors to Parliament today. The visit was an opportunity to thank them for all their ceaseless efforts over the last few year and wish them all the very best ahead of the upcoming local elections in May. Conservatives across Britain are working hard to build a country where people have more opportunity and power over their lives; a country where families are stronger and society is more responsible; and a Britain which is safer and greener. Conservative councils can be trusted to deliver high quality, value for money public services. In 2019, MPs were elected to deliver national change. But national change cannot be achieved without working closely with our vast network of great local councillors. We are all one team and it begins with the grassroots. It is a privilege to work in such a historical building, and it was great to be able to share with councillors parts of the Palace of Westminster which aren’t seen on TV.
