Secretary of State for Levelling Up Meeting 
It was great to catch up with the Secretary of State yesterday. We discussed the importance of the Ferryhill Station Restoring Your Railways bid and potential investment zones as being absolutely critical in giving the people of Sedgefield confidence that the Govt is determined to provide them the opportunities they deserve.
We also discussed solar farm planning policy and I shared my frustrations with how multiple applications often mean that a disproportionate amount of the rural landscape can be affected.
I also raised the concern that there appeared to be the potential for inappropriate changes in categorisation of land to facilitate approval for excessive solar on land very suitable for productive farming. Iām pleased that the Secretary has committed to investigating this matter further.
