Paul Howell MP has warmly welcomed the announcement by Ofgem that typical energy bills will fall by £238 a year from April. This represents a significant reduction from the current level and will provide much-needed relief to households across Sedgefield who have been struggling with soaring energy costs.
“This news is a welcome step forward for families and businesses in Sedgefield who have been hit hard by the recent increase in energy prices,” said Paul. “The reduction in the energy price cap will mean an average saving of £20 per month for households, which will make a real difference to people’s budgets.”
Paul Howell MP acknowledged the continued challenges faced by many constituents:
“While this is positive news, we must remember that energy bills remain significantly higher than they were a year ago, and many people are still struggling to make ends meet. I will continue to work with the Government and local organisations to ensure that support is available to those who need it most.”
Paul also highlighted the importance of long-term solutions to address the energy crisis:
“In the long term, we need to see investment in renewable energy sources and energy efficiency measures to make our homes and businesses more affordable to heat and power. This will not only help to reduce household bills but also create jobs and protect our environment.”
