Paul Howell MP is pleased to share the ‘It All Adds Up’ Campaign
Building upon the success of last’s year ‘It All Adds Up’ campaign, which outlined how every UK household can save money on their energy bills at no upfront cost, the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero will be relaunching the campaign for 2023/24.
The ‘It All Adds Up’ campaign follows an unprecedented package of government support that helped households meet their energy costs last Winter, including the Energy Price Guarantee, saving a typical household over £900, the Energy Bills Support Scheme providing a £400 discount to millions and the most vulnerable receiving £1,200 each. Get Ready for Winter 2023
The campaign will again promote a series of simple actions to help consumers lower their bills by preparing their heating systems and conserving energy this winter.
The Department have refreshed the priority actions to ensure the campaign has maximum relevance. All the measures were tested in focus groups and people said they are realistic, informative and achievable:
- Reduce your boiler flow temperature and save up to £60 per year
- Bleed your radiators to reduce the costs of your energy bills
- Get your boiler serviced to help reduce your energy bills
- Heat the rooms you’re in and turn down the radiators in unused rooms and you could save up to £50 per year
- Install an energy efficient showerhead and save up to £40 per year
- Reduce your washing machine temperature and save up to £20 per year
They know from their research that the campaign remains relevant and that 99% of people asked in a recent survey said they have given at least some thought to how to save on their energy bills (DESNZ Priorities Tracker, Wave 5, Q2 2023 report). Further, they estimate that, last year, the campaign may have saved bill payers up to £120m on their energy bills.
