🇬🇧 MEETING WITH THE PRIME MINISTER 🇬🇧
This week, I had the welcome opportunity to meet directly with the Prime Minister to discuss a range of important issues affecting my constituents.
A range of topics was discussed, including Broadband connectivity, anti-social behaviour, levelling up investments, cost of living and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
While I welcome the UK Government's announcement to eliminate the import of Russian oil by the end of 2022, I sought assurances that this move would not exacerbate the ongoing increase in the cost of living for working families.
I was reassured that the creation of an Oil Taskforce combined with the gradual phasing out of Russian imports would allow the UK more than enough time to adjust supply chains and support industry, minimising additional costs on consumers.
